The ISO Assessment Process

Step 1

When making your initial enquiry you will need to supply us with the following information, via a formal application form:

Step 2

Based on this information a written quotation will be supplied. Following receipt of the quotation you will be contacted by a member of The Assessment Network to discuss the quote and confirm approval to process.

Step 3

Your named contact will be telephoned by the Assessor to agree arrangements for both your Document Review and On-Site Assessment.

Any provisional dates agreed for an on-site assessment will be confirmed subject to action identified at the Document Review stage being completed. The Document Review stage is to check that your documentation is in place as required by ISO 9001.

Step 4

An on-site assessment is carried out at your premises; this stage is to check that you comply with your written procedures and that you meet the requirements of ISO 9001.

Organisations who are successful will be recommended for registration by the Assessor. If unsuccessful, corrective action is agreed and a further assessment arranged if necessary. A further assessment would usually only address the areas where corrective action was needed.

Step 5

Recommended assessment details are presented to an independant panel who verify the procedure was adhered to and that the assessment was undertaken in a correct and objective manner. Any issues raised by the panel must be "cleared and closed".

Once a recommendation has been accepted by the panel, you will be informed and issued with a Certificate of Registration and authorised to display the Accreditation/Certification Mark as appropriate.

Step 6

Surveillance visits are scheduled to take place at 6 or 12 month intervals depending on the size of your organisation and the issues raised at the initial assessment. A follow up date is agreed at the end of each assessment.
